The English version of the proceedings entitled Contingency in the Education, Art and Sport: international multidisciplinary conference consists of selected papers written by our as well as foreign authors. It is based on the contributions delivered at the conference Contingency in the Education, Art and Sport organized at the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University in May 2016. The main idea of the proceedings is to offer a comprehensive and interdisciplinary reflection regarding the issue of contingency. The issue is approached from the various aspects and from the various methodical frames.
What is a contingency? Is it possible to control it using the planning and management of social and natural processes? Or is this a mischief leading us to an inevitable perish? Questions like these do not apply only to scientific disciplines, but to the human life as such. Are we able to let contingency into our lives? We understand the urgency of this issue, once we realize that every substantial, like love, friendship, discoveries, ideas etc. involve contingency.
